Day 85 – Busan

Today we woke up surprisingly early (10am 😂) and had breakfast before catching a bus 30 minutes to Taejongdae Resort Park. The Park, has a few attractions to check out including a Pebble Yard, Temples, War Memorials and a lighthouse.

A complete loop around Taejongdae Resort Park by foot took around 1.5 hours. There is also an electric car that you could buy tickets for, like a hop on hop off service.

After Taejongdae Resort Park, we caught a bus to the Gamcheon Culture Village. The village used to be full of run down buildings that were rejuvenated into an art project to promote tourism. We walked around the village, enjoying all the creative art works. The information centre wasn’t really helpful, as all they wanted to do was sell a map.

There a lots of cafes and places to eat in the village, and lots of art works and exhibitions all around the village. It is actually still a village, so plenty of signs are around that say to respect the locals privacy, which is fair enough.

We then bused back close to our accommodation, and stopped at the Fish Market. The Fish Market building to me looks so much like the Opera House (Sydney) but it just might be me. Along the fish market streets there was fish stores and restaurants selling all sorts of live seafood. The crabs where massive.

Close by to the Fish Market is the Busan International Film Festival (known as BIFF) area, which has Korean Films stars hand prints on the floor. The BIFF area is full of shops and lit up signs as far as the eye can see.

We then walked to Yongdusan Park to check out Busan Tower. The main entrance to the park was under construction so we had to walk around to find a side entrance. The Busan tower, felt a lot like the Namsan Seoul Tower (Day 71) so we thought against going up to the top. The area looked very cool with all the buildings and bridges lit up.

Forgot to mention, our snacks were very disappointing today. See below images :'(
