Day 76 – Seoul to Chuncheon
Today after breakfast we left our hotel in Yeongdeungpo and caught two trains to Chuncheon. We used the Naver Maps App (better than Google Maps in South Korea). The journey took just over 2 hours and felt very efficient like in Japan.
Naver Map shows two different trains ITX (express trains) and Korail service. The Korail service is substantially cheaper which is what we used.
Once in Chuncheon, we were hit with light showers as we walked to Sh Guesthouse. After settling into the guesthouse we walked to the famous food street called Dakgalbi Street, and had dinner. There was also an area called Romantic Market, but it was just full of clothing stores.
While in Chuncheon, we were told to eat the chicken. While trying to find a store, a local realised we were lost and tried his best to help us out, even with his limited English. The locals are so friendly. 🙂
However, he was unable to help us and we ended up having dinner at a fast food chain called Lotteria with disappointing fried chicken. To get rid of the taste we ended up having Krispy Kreme with a massive “regular” sized mug.
