Booking the Lost City Trek

Today was a super chill day as we decided to go on the Lost City Trek. We had asked around yesterday and all the companies were well over one million pesos. One company gave us a “secret price” of 1,000,000 COP (~$406 AUD) after some negotiating. It was tough to bring the price down.

We could leave our bags at their office if required, but we had already asked our accommodation, Color Hostel, and they had luggage storage. Everything else, like entrance fees, meals and accommodation would be provided by the travel agency. We were booking for tomorrow. 

Also the hike would run for either 4 or 5 days with the price being the same regardless. We went for the 5 days option, as it gave us the flexibility to choose the 4 days option if we wanted (If we choose the 4 days option, we can’t extend to 5 days). The only difference between the two options is that the return trip will be done over night instead of returning in one go. The journey to the Lost City is the same, regardless of the number of nights.

The rest of the day just involved relaxing and withdrawing cash to be able to pay for the tour.
