Day 496 - Minca « Travel the Gap

Happy New Year!

I can’t believe it’s 2020 and we are travelling around Colombia of all places. My wife and I still loving travelling. However, if we had to return home we wouldn’t complain (FYI: I had no idea about the Corona virus when I wrote this post in Jan). But I vote to continue travelling and enjoying this mini retirement!

We had a small but cheapish breakfast at Siembra Boutique Hostel. Since it was a New Year, I decided to come out with a positive attitude and give the staff another chance. A staff member told me that small New Years parties occurred throughout town.

Since we were trying to manage our limited cash, we decided to go to Lazy Cat for lunch. We were heartbroken to find it was closed. The owner of our previous hostel did mention previously that foreign owners normally close during holidays. The only other restaurant we knew that took card payments was Restaurante Santisabella. We enjoyed the Italian food and the warm Minca sun.
