Day 44 – Bangkok

As we walked around the massive China Town midnight market, we could see souvenirs and items for 1/3 or less of the price we saw at other shops. Of course there were some minimum purchase amounts. Being overweight and not wanting to carry excessive amounts of cheap items around the world we kept our purchases to a minimum. After spending around 1 hour here, we decided we should go back home, after eating some ice cream and saying buy to my friend.

Actual tea in Thailand! J was super excited that she found this.

Once we got up again, we had to leave to a cheaper hostel around a 5 minute walk away. I had actually screwed up the date that another friend from Melbourne was transiting in Bangkok by one day. Otherwise we were meant to be in the nicer 4J Lodge when they arrived so they could freshen up.

However, we moved to the hostel Once in Bangkok. It was nice but not to the level of 4J Lodge. Once there our friends arrived and we acted the tour guide showing them around Bangkok. It was awesome to see friends from back home. If anyone else is looking for a holiday, we definitely would love to see you somewhere around the world.

We checked out Khao San Road, and had some drinks at one of the many bars. While going to China Town, it started to rain, but it just added to the chaos which made the experience more fun.

That ends a long but very social day. And a big thanks for taking a bag full of our unused and excessive items back to Melbourne!
