Day 431 – Arequipa
Food Poisoning Round II
Once again, I woke up feeling horrible. After creating some samples, we caught an Uber to the Medictour Clinic (a.k.a. Vitta Clinic), which is just north of the historic area of Arequipa. After giving in some blood samples to see if there are any underlying issues with my body we left.
I was expecting the doctor to be there, but it was just the nurses who took the samples and payment for everything. Compared to the hospital in Paracas, it was super expensive, but still less than my travel insurances excess for $200 AUD.
We caught a taxi that had just dropped off another patient back to Holidays Backpackers Hostel. The doctor had recommended staying away from most restaurant foods. Since we had a small kitchen at the hostel, we decided to do some grocery shopping and cook our own meals. The nearby Mercado San Camilo, has lots of fruits and vegetables.
The rest of the day was spent watching some Netflix, YouTube, sleeping and eating my wife’s cooking.
