Day 418 – Lima to Paracas
Goodbye Lima
We woke up at our friend’s house in Lima. Today will be our last day here. We really enjoyed Miraflores more than Downtown Lima, but a part of it was probably the weather was better the 2nd time we came here. Our bus tickets were purchased last night using the Red Bus App with Perubus Express to Paracas. It cost us 45 PEN ($19.87 AUD) per person (p/p).
We caught an Uber to the terminal for Perubus Express, which is in La Victoria.
Our bus was scheduled for 12.45pm. However, once we arrived we were told to get into a van that took us to a different bus station. We were really glad that we had arrived early. At this terminal, we got onto the Perubus Express bus directly. It was a nice bus and it left the terminal at 12.48pm. After 10 minutes, everyone was given a small sandwich for lunch.
Paracas
The 260km journey along the coast was uneventful. We arrived at the main plaza at 4.30pm. From the plaza, we walked to our guest house, Buganvilla B&B. We had booked a private room, which was really nice. After settling in, we walked around town, looking for tours and information.
We found a company called Kory Tours that goes to Isla Ballestas and the Paracas National Park for 45 PEN ($19.87 AUD) p/p. It would not include the entrance tickets which would cost another 22 PEN ($9.72 AUD) p/p.
After booking the tour, we walked along the beach and pier. We saw a nice sunset on the beach. Along the pier were several restaurants that were inviting.
However, we walked past all of them and purchased some groceries near the main plaza. Afterwards, we found a small restaurant on our walk home with a menu of the day. After dinner we walked back to the guest house to sleep.
