Day 390 – Chiclayo

Rest Day

We woke up from our 9.5 hour journey in the town of Chiclayo. It was 5:30am when we arrived. It was still dark so we decided to wait until the sun rose. Around 6.30am we walked to our new accommodation, Santa Victoria House. 

We were instantly welcomed by the lovely older couple who lived there. They only spoke in Spanish, but were super friendly. We were allowed to check in super early once again, into the very nice and newly refurbished room.

Since we were tired from the bus ride, we decided to take it easy today. After a shower and nap, we walked to a supermarket, Metro. It was really large and had everything we needed. 

We even decided to buy a bottle of wine since it’s been so long since we had any. Unfortunately, we had to use our Swiss Army Knife for the first time since we started this trip. The instant I tried to open the wine bottle it broke!
