Day 234 – Doha
Today was our last full day in Doha. We decided to take it easy. We went to a stadium which was used for the 2006 Asian Games. It will be used for the 2022 FIFA World Cup as well. Just a note; there are soccer stadiums being built all over the country, for the 2022 World Cup.
The Khalifa International Stadium is in a nice sports precinct. Right next to the stadium is a fancy hotel called The Torch Doha. We managed to go to the cafeteria level for some nice views of the city. The windows weren’t very clean, but the views were nice.
Walking distance from the Torch, is the famous Villaggio Mall. The Mall is fashioned after the Italian city of Venice. There is a small river, running through the mall, and the roof is decorated with clouds. The top level is just for show. There are the standard shops inside, and I guess a few high end stores.
