Day 22 to 26 – Family Time

Over the next few days we just said bye to family around the country as we prepared to fly to Hong Kong.

However on the 16th of September (Day 24) one day before we fly off a friend told us about Typhoon Mangkhut which was on its way to Hong Kong.

After much deliberation we cancelled our flights and started making alternative plans with my 30 days of visa being our only real restriction in Sri Lanka.

Asking around, it was good to cancel our flights despite losing some money. Most flights on the 16th were cancelled and public transport was either cancelled or reduced over the next few days. If we went we would be very limited as to what we could have done.

The joy’s of travel. However, it turned out for the best as we were able to spend more time with the family which is always a good thing.
