Day 214 – Auckland

Today I was craving some burgers, so after some quick research, we drove to the suburb of New Market. We went to a restaurant called Burger Burger, and had (as you can imagine) Burgers. The vibe in the outdoor area was cool, and the burgers were tasty with sweet potato chips (known as Kumara in Maori).

We then drove down to the massive public area, Auckland Domain. The domain houses cafes, gardens, sports grounds and the Auckland War Memorial Museum. Entrance to the domain is free, but the War Memorial will cost $25 NZD / $23.73 AUD per person. We decided not to go. The memorial is free for residents of Auckland.

We walked past the sports grounds to the Auckland Domain Wintergarden. The various green-house’s, hold various tropical plants from around the world, and it was pretty nice to see. Overall, you could easily spend half a day just relaxing at the Auckland Domain, which is what we ended up doing.
