Day 179-94 – Melbourne, AUSTRALIA
We landed back home for a quick pit stop on our way to New Zealand for a friend’s wedding. The flight with Air Asia X, was surprisingly decent. Once on the ground in Avalon Airport we were greeted by actually smiling immigration staff, which is one of the things I miss about home.
The two weeks in Melbourne flew by, and was mainly spent catching up with family and friends and restocking our travel supplies.
Highlights included a belated 30th Birthday party, finally winning a game of Catan (after a ~100 game losing streak), amazing Korean BBQ and my HTC 10 phone getting fused to the charging cable.
One of the great things about exploring the streets of Melbourne without any time limits is that I realise how angry people on the road are. Without a job and all 24 hours to do what I what (given my wife’s permission of course) I have found my own road rage has disappeared. If I gain nothing else from my trip, I’ll call it a win =D
