Day 178 – Kuala Lumpur
Today is our last day in Malaysia and Asia for now. We had an afternoon flight, so we packed our bags and left them at Hotel Signature International at Pudu. After checking out we had breakfast and then walked to the National Museum of Malaysia (Muzium Negara) which was 2.8 km away.
Unfortunately, when we were close, the walk suddenly became uphill, which made navigating the humid streets of KL a little more difficult. We were fortunately rewarded with cheap entry into the museum at only 5 MYR / $1.75 AUD per person. The museum itself is mid sized with rooms dedicated to different aspects of Malaysia. We spent a couple of hours here enjoying the history, and also learning the history. Of note were some jars, that were identical to the jars from the Plain of Jars (Day 162).
After the museum we walked back to the hotel to pick up our bags. We then walked to the close by Pudu Sentral and caught one of the many buses to the airport (KLIA2) for only 12 MYR / $4.19 AUD.
At the airport, as we ate lunch, we lost track of time. When we finally checked the flights status, it was the final call! We ran. We needed to go through another security gate to get from one section of the airport to another, which we had to impatiently wait in a line for. After security we ran again. Luckily there was still a line getting onto the plane, so the rest of the flight was uneventful. PHEW.
