Day 163 – Phonsavan to Vang Vieng
Historic Sites to Party Sites
Today we checked out of Jennida Guesthouse and walked to the close by Mini Van Station Company. This is where we got our tour of Plain of Jars (Day 162) yesterday, and where we bought our van tickets to Vang Vieng for 100,000 LAK / $16.45 AUD per person. We were travelling with the other Aussie couple we had done the Plain of Jars tour with. It was good to have someone else to talk to instead of just each other for a change. That being said, I fell asleep for most of the drive.
The Bus station we were dropped off at is actually ~2km from the main town. We decided to walk into town and find some accommodation. After trying a few places, that were either full or too expensive, we were recommended Many Riverside Guesthouse. The rooms were simple but clean and large. We only paid 80,000 LAK / $13.17 AUD per night for a private room.

We headed out for dinner to a restaurant with a river view, as we planned our trip around the town with the other couple. It was cool to be spending more time with friendly people. Overall a nice day of travelling ~230km.
