Day 145 – Sapa

Buying North Face Jackets in Sapa

Today was a relaxing day. My wife is feeling sick again. We probably shouldn’t have gone to Fansipan yesterday (Day 144), but we both had no regrets. We stayed indoors at Sapa Romance Hotel all day and then went out to buy some North Face jackets for the family back home as gifts. Five jackets cost 1,700,000 VND / $102.86 AUD! A bargain if I do say so myself.

We had some concerns that they might be counterfeit, and we found that the quality of the zips and workmenship varied from store to store, but we were happy with our choice (and one of the benefits of this blog being so far behind, is all 5 jackets were tested out in the South Island of New Zealand a few months later and were in fact waterproof and still haven’t fallen apart). We bought our jackets from Miss Hang Shop 007, which was close by to Sapa Station.
