Day 13 – Polonnaruwa
Summary:
Today we bused to the ancient capital of Polonnaruwa in the morning. We stayed at Siyapath Holiday Resort, and the hosts were able to get us a English speaking tour guide to take us to Polonnaruwa which is a UNESCO World Heritage site on the same day which was awesome. Most of the ruins are from around the 11th century.
Not much else to say, but the ancient capital looks amazing and it would be awesome to see how it actually was back in the day. Well worth having a guide to give you more information but you can also get a map and cycle your way around. We had a three wheel take us around.

Travelled in early September. First theft of the tour. My target thongs were stolen around the large stupa. Luckily in Sri Lanka a shop selling more is not hard to find.
